Hatay Tourism Strategy And Action Plan Studies Started By Stakeholders’ Meeting

Touristic, historical, cultural and natural assets of Hatay are to be used in effective way to contribute socio-economic development of the city.
For this reason, it is expected that the current situation and potentials of the sector in Hatay will be revealed, the proposals for the projects that can move these potentials will be developed and thus the contribution to the development of the tourism region will be increased. Within this scope, Hatay Tourism Strategy and Action Plan had been prepared containing the time period between 2012-2015.

Now, Hatay Tourism Strategy and Action Plan for 2023 Targets will be prepared by assessment of previous plan, determination of new strategy and actions through district based workshops, surveys, SWOT analysis etc. 

Studies have been started with the participation of Prof. Dr. Mehmet Cihan YAVUZ (representing Çukurova Teknokent A.Ş.; as the contractor) and personnel of Hatay Investment Support Office of Eastern Mediterranean Development Agency (DOGAKA) and the Head of Hatay Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism.

Within this scope, stakeholders meeting has been held in DOGAKA Headquarters in Hatay on 16th of December by the participation of tourism agencies, hotels and tourist guides to discuss the needs of regional tourism, undiscovered potentials of Hatay, the problems being faced and the suggestions on the solution, and the future and expectations of tourism in the near future. It has been learned that the stakeholders' needs and deficiencies of the tourism of the region, and the thoughts of the potentials of the region that have not come to light. Tourism projections and expectations for Hatay province were evaluated.
