2017 SODES Program presentation and information meeting was held in Mersin Governor's Office on 02-03 March 2017 under the coordination of Mersin Governorship EU and External Relations Bureau & SODES Coordination Unit and Çukurova Development Agency (ÇKA). We as Eastern Mediterranean Development Agency has also supported meeting with the participation of its expert.
Meeting were attended by Mersin Governor Özdemir Çakacak, Deputy Governor Mahmut Halal, EU and External Relations Bureau & SODES Coordinator Çağrı Başaran, Secretary General of Çukurova Development Agency Lütfi Altunsu, District Governors, Regional Directors, Provincial Directors, metropolitan and district municipal authorities, representatives of professional organizations in the form of public institutions and non-governmental organizations.
Our specialist Erdal ILBAY, who made the presentation and gave information of the SODES program objectives, supported topics, cost estimates by sample SODES project reviews. At last, operation of the SODES-BIS project application system had worked.
SODES program targets people who are in poverty, unemployed or in needs of the integration to changing social structure. SODES Program supports social inclusion, employment, culture, arts and sports locally. The goal of the human-focused and project-based SODES program is to increase the employability of the disadvantaged segments of society, and in particular the greater participation of children, youth, disabled and women in economic and social life. The said program can be applied to public institutions and organizations, local governments, professional organizations in the form of public institutions, non-governmental organizations.
In the provinces of our Agency Region (DOĞAKA) named Hatay, Kahramanmaraş and Osmaniye, SODES applications to be made to Governorates of its own.
